The Rotary Club of Kingston, NY is sponsoring its Third Capital 2 Capital 5K Run/Walk on Sunday 20 October 2024 to raise money and awareness for veterans in need of service dogs. For more information please see: https://doggiepaddle.org/
This event commemorates the Burning of Kingston, in October 1777, when over 2,000 Kingston refugees fled to the Town of Hurley as British soldiers burned their city to the ground.
The C2C is a hybrid 5K, which allows participants to join either Virtually or In Person.
In Person participants can run or walk the route on the new Kingston Rail trail [parallel to the refugee route and much safer] to School House Lane in Hurley.
9:00 – Check-In and late registration and will begin at the Reis Group Insurance parking lot at 475 Washington Ave, Kingston, NY 12401
9:45 – Youth races begin (1/2 mile and 1 mile)
10:00 – C2C
11:00 – Awards ceremony At Hurley Heritage Museum
Virtual participants can walk or run a 5 km (3.1 mi) distance on a trail or park in their hometown or elsewhere, anytime between October 3rd 2022 through Sunday October 20th.
UCAT will provide bus service from Hurley back to Kingston beginning at 11 AM
