The Onteora Runners Club brings you a 5 week virtual running series starting with a 1.75 mile sprint and ending with a 1 hour "run as much as you can." This is not for the feint of heart as the series will be run through the cold, wind, snow, sleet, rain, or whatever winter brings you.
Each week on Friday, you will be sent a course to run and a link to submit results. You will have until the following Sunday at 11:59 PM to submit your results. There will be an informal group run on the first Sunday of each week. There will be no formal timing or race markings. All navigation, timing, and road safety is up to the individual runner.
Each week results will be compiled and shared, and if you run all 5 weeks courses you will get custom Onteora Runners Club Winter Survivor Swag! The swag this year will be even better than the two previous years.
Register once for all 5 events.
For this year’s event, we are running in memory of fellow runner and friend Dan Mahwinney. Dan tragically and suddenly passed away in his sleep on October 7th, 2024. Dan was a Winter Survivor the past few years and was also a regular at many local races. This year’s swag will honor Dan, and all of the proceeds from the race will be split between the Memorial Garden being built at Miller Middle School (where Dan was a beloved teacher) and the Scholarship Fund being set up by his family.
