After being a victim of the pandemic and trail maintenance the Rosendale Runs Half Marathon and 4.2 mile Plains Run (held in 2021) is back. This race is organized by the Shawangunk Runners Club and all proceeds are donated to the Town of Rosendale Recreation Department.

The two courses share the first 3.8 miles, and then the half marathon goes up onto the unpaved but well groomed Wallkill Valley Rail Trail and incudes a short section at the Williams Lake Project that takes you through the legendary “Cave”. One mile in you hit the only major hill of the course and the rest is flat and downhill.

The half marathon course has been described as both inventive and fun. Awards are handcrafted and unique; all finishers receive a finisher’s gift. There are plentiful refreshments for all.

The Shawangunk Runners Club exists to promote running so our fees are kept low and affordable. The entry fee for the half marathon is $25 and the Plains Run is $15. Circle the date and in the near future we will open registration with all pertinent details and a course map :)
